Rates

Rates are per night, based on Double Occupancy and include a Small Continental Breakfast from 7am-9am in the Office/Lobby area. Rates are subject to 9% Vermont Rooms and Meals tax. Most Weekends during Fall Foliage and Winter Ski Season Holidays require a minimum 2-night stay.  Your Well Behaved and Supervised Children are always welcome. There will be an additional charge of $10.00 per person, per night, age 5 and over.

Policies

Cancellation/Refund Policy: As a small, independent property, cancellations have a significant impact. Unlike larger hotels, we do not overbook our rooms. Your reservation is a contract under which we guarantee you the room of your choice. Therefore, we are forced to adhere to a strict cancellation policy. We ask for your understanding in and respecting our cancellation, change, and no-show policy. Please read carefully. Please do not book unless you're positive you're coming.

Two-weeks (14 days before arrival by 3pm EST) notice of cancellation and/or modification is required. For any cancellation or change of dates, regardless of the reason, we must receive 14 days notice by 3pm EST prior to your arrival date. 

***Your Credit Card will guarantee your reservation. You will be charged for the whole reservation including tax (for each reserved room if more than one) at day 13 prior to arrival. Your reservation will be canceled at this time if your Credit Card is declined.***

We charge in full for any cancellation or shortened stay for any reason within 14 days of check-in date.

Again, if less than 14 days notice for cancellation is provided, or you fail to show on your scheduled arrival date, there will be no refund. A gift certificate for a future stay will be given only if we are able to re-rent your room.

*Any modification (date change and/or shorting of stay) we cannot guarantee the same room type and/or same rates as your original reservation. Prices are subject to change.

MAX OCCUPANCY in our Double Deluxe Rooms and Double Queen Room is 4 people (including children) in total; King Rooms 2 people in total; Budget Room is 2 people in total; Family Rooms are 5 people in total. Sorry, we do not have room for extra beds in the rooms and/or roll-aways and or air mattresses. Nor do we furnish roll-aways, cribs or playpens. *Additional people not stated on the reservation and/or at Check-In will be charged an extra $25 per person, per night fee to the credit card on file. If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will be asked to rent another guest-room for proper accommodations or vacate the motel. Allowing more than the registered number of guests to occupy the room (e.g. unregistered guests or overnight visitors) can result in additional charges or being asked to vacate the room without a refund. Visitors are subject to motel rules and are the guest’s responsibility. 

Snowdon Chalet is 100% SMOKE-FREE Property

ALL rooms AND deck areas at Snowdon Chalet are SMOKE/VAPE-FREE per the State of Vermont “The Clean Indoor Air Act” As a courtesy to future guests we ask that you not smoke and/or vape in the guest rooms and/or deck/balcony area including all places of public access, including medical marijuana. Smoking / Vaping is permitted outside on the lawn, near the white birch trees in a specific smoking area. A $250 fine will be added to your credit card on file for smoking/vaping (including medical marijuana) in a guest room and/or deck/balcony areas. Please do not throw cigarette butts on the ground or parking area or bring them back with you into the guest room. We reserve the right to assess additional charges for cleaning costs in excess of $250 and items that require replacement. We do-not-permit smoking/vaping tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, cigars, tobacco substitutes, etc. in our rooms or deck/parking area. 

*A Designated Smoking Area is provided outside and away from the building near the white birch trees.* Yes, medical and recreational marijuana is legal in Vermont but ONLY in the outside Designated Smoking Area, not in the rooms or deck/balcony areas. 

CANDLE, INCENSE, ESSENTIAL OILS:

Candle, incense, essential oils (diffusing, vaporizing, etc.) are prohibited.  These items and activities will be treated as smoking, a fine accessed, and the guest may be evicted with no refunds.  

Office hours 9am-9pm. *Please note that Check-in starts after 3 pm until 9 pm. If arriving later than 9 pm, please give us a call and let us know, we’ll be happy to accommodate you. WE ACCEPT LATE CHECK-IN, BUT PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL AND LET US KNOW. Please see our ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE POLICY.

PARKING: One parking spot is provided per-room. If you are going to have an extra vehicle, please inform management and we will direct you where you can park. Management is not required to provide on premise parking for extra vehicles. WINTER-Holiday / special event weekends extra vehicles are subject to an additional $20 plus taxes. PLEASE DO NOT BACK INTO PARKING SPACES. Please be considerate of the flowerbeds in the Spring, Summer and Fall months and snowbanks in Winter. PLEASE DO NOT BACK IN. Nobody likes to wake up and open their door to stinky vehicle exhaust. There is NO parking available for trailers, campers, motorhomes, RVs, large trucks, etc. and we are located up on a hill. Please check with our Jen or Dom if you have any questions about parking at the motel.  

WINTER GUESTS: we are recommending that travelers abide by the one-car-per-guest-room policy as parking will be tight with the snowbanks. 

ICY PARKING LOT: In the parking lot… there is a good chance for some icy patches; Ice is an “act of God” as they say and Snowdon Chalet is not responsible or liable at all for the icy condition. When the parking lot is slippery it’s your responsibility to avoid slipping or skidding.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY: The guest will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the motel property caused by themselves, their guests or any person for whom they are responsible. Gambling, contraband, prostitution, weapons, explosives, flammable combustible or hazardous objects (including NO candles, incense, toasters, coffee makers, kettles, propane tanks/grills or cooking appliances) poisons, drugs, and pungent food are strictly prohibited on motel premises. 

NO-COOKING, COOKING  APPLIANCES, COMBUSTIBLES, OR FIREWORKS:

The safety of our guests, staff, and this facility is extremely important to us.  Except for the microwave and refrigerator units that the motel provides, preparation of food in guest rooms by any type of cooking appliances is prohibited.  Absolutely no cooking allowed in rooms. Cooking includes anything from meth to manicotti – if it requires more than heating up in a microwave, consider utilizing our convenient outdoor grill and picnic area. A minimum fee of $300.00 will be charged for cooking in a room, including, but not limited to coffee makers, hot plates, toaster ovens, water heaters, rice cookers, combustible, open flame, barbecue grill, burners, heating appliance, instapot, air-fryer, or any other item intended for cooking.

Charcoal grills are not allowed in any rooms, nor on porches, walkways, or in parking lots. We have provided a picnic area with outdoor grill and fire pit for your convenience. Do not start a fire in the pit without prior management approval. A Fire Pit / Campfire Liability Waiver must be signed to start a fire in the fire pit. Do not leave fire or grill burning and unattended. Guest assumes all responsibility for starting a fire, including damages to self, motel property and other guests, due to accident or negligence. The use of the fire pit may not be always available due to weather. Snowdon Chalet accepts no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of its obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a result of force majeure or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control. The failure of a guest to have access to, or to use, any amenity shall not be grounds for compensation.

DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT:

Guest Rooms found with waste strewn around, in complete disorder, and/or “trashed” will be subject to maintenance deep cleaning fee, administration fee and/or third party fees.

DAMAGE TO ROOM:  Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, art work, etc. will be charge at 120% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room.  Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest.  In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.

DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING:

Damage to mattresses and linen including; towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, shoe-polish, nail polish, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article.

We ask that you do not move furniture in the rooms for your safety and not to modify our plumbing in any way. **Before you ask Whhhhaaaatttt??? Yes, there is a reason why we have modified our rules and regulations on more than one occasion. 

Refrain from using motel furniture, fixtures, linens or equipment for purposes other than those intended. Our linens are not meant for cleaning up messes, but we do happily provide bike towels. Whatever your problems, you don’t have to get creative with your solutions. We're here to help.

Children (ages 17 and under) must stay with and be supervised by a responsible, adult registrant – do not leave children unattended in the rooms!

As the parents, guardians, or chaperones of children you are personally and legally responsible for and must supervise them at all times.  For safety reasons, please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or allow them to roam the motel property unsupervised.  Children are not allowed in the breakfast/lobby/office area without being accompanied and supervised by their parent/guardian/chaperone.

Supervising adult registrant is responsible for the conduct of accompanying children and minors. Do not allow children to run, play, walkways and driveways, or in parking lots or SNOWBANKS. Do not allow children to RUN on DECK. Do not allow children to run or play around the fire pit/grill/smoking area. Do not allow children to play at such a volume as to bother other guests. Do not allow children to climb trees. Do not allow children to feed or tease wild animals residing at Snowdon Chalet. Do not allow children to find other creative ways of damaging or destroying motel property, or otherwise create a disturbance or become a nuisance for motel guests and staff. The back yard is ‘private’ so please do not walk around ‘Keep Out’ signs etc. Do not allow children to climb or play on snowbanks.

Snowdon Chalet guest rooms have platform beds- please no jumping on the beds.

Please be mindful of our gardens and fruit trees. We ask that you or anyone in your party including children to be BEAR AWARE. This is rural Vermont so keep an eye out for bears, moose, woodchucks, porcupines, bobcats, coyotes, skunks, turtles, etc. on our property and while driving. 

We reserve the right to refuse service and to eject any person or persons who create(s) a disturbance or becomes a nuisance. The following activities are deemed to be injurious to public health and therefore are prohibited: public drunkenness; unruly or unsupervised children; boisterous activity; use of fireworks; overcrowding on or within motel’s premises; public urination; extremely profane or abusive language; harassment or hostility towards staff and resident animals; the making of any noise (day or night) of such character, intensity, or duration so as to be detrimental to the life, health and safety, or welfare of any individual; steadily or intermittently annoying, disturbing, injuring, or endangering the comfort, repose, or peace of another individual. Ejection is subject to forfeiture of all monies paid.

CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST: (A light breakfast, consisting of baked goods with butter and jam, toast, fruit, oatmeal, tea & coffee) in the Breakfast Nook/lobby/office from 7am-9:00am

Children MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times in the breakfast/office/lobby area. 

Our Continental Breakfast is free to registered guests only.  Visitors may not join a registered guest for a free breakfast.  Visitors may pay $6.00 per person at the Front Desk.  If you desire a full hot breakfast, Front Desk staff is happy to provide you with recommendations to local restaurants.

Sorry, we can not accommodate Special Dietary needs - The best way to ensure this is to bring your own food and snacks. All our Guest Rooms have a mini-fridge and microwave. The Garden Market, located in the heart of Londonderry, Vermont, has been offering alternative choices in food, nutrition, and health for over 30 years. Open daily from 9am to 6pm.

PETS: We are so sorry to say, that even though we LOVE dogs, we can no longer accept dogs or any pets here at Snowdon Chalet. NO PETS ALLOWED. A $250 ROOM RECOVERY FEE plus any damage will be charged to your Credit Card for bringing a pet in a guest room! 

*Quiet Hours* Please show respect for other guests and keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. We are a small older Vermont motel. Please do not come here to party. Our walls are somewhat thin so please be a courteous guest. Guests who disturb other guests will be asked to leave and will not be provided a refund. If you become aware of a disruptive guest, please contact Front Desk staff immediately by calling office 802-824-6047 or in person. Televisions, voices, or other devices must be kept at a respectful low level at all times. Doors should be opened and closed quietly.  No congregating or running on the deck/stairs.

ROOM KEYS:

We issue one Room Key to the registered guest. (one key per room) No room keys will be issued to youth under 18 at any time.  I.D. is required if you have lost your key and require a duplicate.  Please return room keys to Front Desk at Check-out.

Lost Keys: A $20 lost key charge will be assessed to the credit card on file if the room key isn’t returned at check-out.

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES: Multiple day stays, rooms are serviced daily. Trash & recycling must be collected daily from each room. The majority of guests at the motel reuse their towels at least once during their stay. We will only refresh towels & toiletries upon request. Management reserves the right to enter rooms daily to collect trash/recycling and to verify the guest’s safety and room condition. We do value your privacy, but guests retain occupancy rights only. We do not have laundry facilities for guest use.

Please do not use our rooms for any purpose other than lodging. Subletting of rooms is strictly prohibited.

HOUSE RULES:  Groups, School groups, sports/ski teams, weddings, special events, etc.

Please contact motel directly for current House Rules (802) 824-6047.  Schools, sport/ski teams are directed to also review their specific school or sport organization Code of Conduct.

FREE WiFi ACCESS:

Access to our WiFi is free for our registered guests.  The hotel WiFi access code is subject to change without notice.  WiFi signals are subject to change without notice depending on the room’s location, the status of our WiFi-equipment, and interference from other local wireless signals.  Snowdon Chalet assumes no liability for guest use.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE POLICY:

GUEST REGISTRATION:

We require valid contact information from the guest making the reservations including first and last name, address, phone number, and signature. The names of all guests occupying the room must be registered.  Information regarding your license plate/car description is also gathered at check-in for security.

CHECK-OUT TIME:  Room rental period expires at 11:00 a.m.  Additional day charge, plus tax may apply for late checkout.

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE:

Check-out time is 11 a.m.  Please check-out with Front Desk so that housekeeping may begin cleaning your room as soon as possible.  If you require a later check-out, please contact Front Desk prior to the day of your departure and we will do our best to accommodate your request.  A charge may apply for late check-out.

Unless there is an emergency, please plan to Check-In after 3pm until 9pm 

In order to prepare for the arrival of new guests, Check-Out is by 11 a.m.

EARLY CHECK-IN DEPENDS ON THE TIME OF YEAR… THINGS CAN GET HECTIC, JUST ASK AND WE WILL TRY OUR BEST!  Early check-in is subject to availability. We cannot guarantee ANY early check-in, especially during the busy holiday/special event weekends. 2-hours or more early check-in is subject to an extra fee of $20. For guaranteed early check-in, the room can be reserved from the previous night if available. If you would like to check-in early, please contact us in advance.  Please keep in mind that it's only the two of us (Jen & Dom) that do everything here at the motel, we don't have additional employees, etc. We will try to accommodate your needs to the best we can. Thank you for understanding.

You must show a valid photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all special requests cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability upon check-in. 

As a guest at the Snowdon Chalet, I agree to adhere to the policies pertaining to the use of these premises and assume personal, financial, and legal responsibility & liability for family, friends, or others using this facility and ensure their understanding and acceptance of this statement.  I also agree to pay any Fees incurred on your account, including those due to cancellation or change, chargeback, damage to property and authorize Snowdon Chalet to charge the credit card on file. You agree to pay all charges incurred by users of your credit card, debit card, or other payment method used in connection with a transaction or other monetary transaction interaction with Snowdon Chalet at the prices in effect when such charges are incurred. I agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Ampersand Hospitality, Inc. DBA Snowdon Chalet and its owners and agents from any liability for damages due to personal injury, death, and property damage which results from the use of this facility. Any and all amenities at Snowdon Chalet are to be used AT OWN RISK.  Snowdon Chalet accepts no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of its obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a result of force majeure or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control. The failure of a guest to have access to, or to use, any amenity shall not be grounds for compensation.
